A: (detailed)
If you use a high quality extended service oil filter, you
may be able to go up to 50,000 miles between filter changes.
See the SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® Oil Filter Guide for more information.
We strongly recommend that if you are interested in maximum oil drains and maximum engine protection that you buy high-quality oil filters and discuss filter change recommendations with your filter supplier or retailer.
You can now find the SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® MicroGlass Oil Filters on our website:
Oil Filters
These filters are designed to last up to 50,000 miles (80,000 km).
If the engine was previously operated for a long time on conventional petroleum motor oil, we recommend that the oil filter is changed at about 10,000 miles (or one year) after conversion to SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life®.
Thereafter about 15,000 miles later (25,000 miles after initial installation or two years)
And then every 25,000 to 50,000 miles (two to five years) depending on specific application and type of service.
If conventional Cellulose Oil Filter is used, then it should be changed at least every 7,500 miles or annually (which ever occurs first).
Based on our experience with vehicles that use "cartridge" type Oil Filters, for which we do not have equivalent MicroGlass media Oil Filter, if the OEM or Good Quality Oil Filter is used, then the Oil Filter should be changed either annually or every 2 years, depending on application, but at least every 20,000 miles.
SynLube Incorporated as pert of our customer support will provide you with the information on what is optimal and cost effective Oil Filter change interval, that is specific to your application and use.
